1. it's not the ITU alone

2. the ITU is a complex entity, successful in part of its tasks, strongly 
supported in parts of the world for diverse reasons (not all of my or your 
liking)

e-G8 was pretty scary and so are lots of other events, organizations and 
trends.

Vigilance, communication, understanding, principles, rational dialogue, 
and action are the order of the day.
