Hi Folks,

Just a short report from ISOC-IL. IPv6 Day fell on a national holiday
here (Shavuot) so we were not able to set up any public events. We made
our own website v6-accessible just so as we're not completely out on the
fun. (IPv6 support on the IIX (the ISOC-IL-run Israeli Internet
Exchange) is available for a long while now.)

A few months ago we have published a position paper on the state of IPv6
readiness in Israel, recommending some steps we feel would accelerate
the rate of adoption. This triggered some media coverage and a hearing
in the parliament, in which we presented our position and ISPs, carriers
and other stakeholders were asked to present their views, readiness
level and plans.
Shortly following this process, a couple of the major ISPs started
offering IPv6 transit (which they hadn't previously). All in all, it
seems like the ball is now rolling and state of v6 here is improving.

Have a fun and successful IPv6 day, everyone!

Doron
