Khaled,

I like many others am enthusiastic about the changes in your country,
which is dear to many of us, esp. those who have traveled there and
experienced at least one of its wonderful facets.

That there are immense challenges ahead is illustrated by the events in
the news today, where the good news of the resignation of high officials
is accompanied with the worrisome ones of violence and a power vacuum.

Let us hope that this one is filled with a transition to a more open
society, in which traditional values mix with tolerance and enlightenment
to make life better for Tunisians.

And let us all be ready in ISOC Chapters and HQ to work together with
people in Tunis in order to foster, facilitate, and build an Internet with
broader reach, access to knowledge, technological as well as social
innovation, and an exemplary transition to peace and democracy. May it
last, thanks first of all to Tunisians and not least to the Internet.

We stand by you for this.

Alejandro Pisanty
