[Chapter-delegates] A huge day for Internet in Tunisia

Hi,

This is really good news, congratulations! In the meantime, what Veni said
below is not only true, but also a reminder for the rest of us not take our
freedoms for granted. I'm afraid we will be facing more and more demands
for enhanced internet filtering and surveillance all over the world. The
reasons for these demands are usually religious, political or commercial.
In the immediate future we may expect a backlash from the whole Wikileaks
affair with serious implications to the freedom of the Internet.

The Internet Society, with its network of national chapters, would have a
unique opportunity to set up an international observatory to follow related
legislation in different countries. It could be in the form of a wiki or
blog or something like that.

Should we do it?
