For courses, I suggest they are develop, primarily, out of the RFC’s. In IPv6 alone, from specifications to network blocks or addresses, how they are allocated, based on RFC documents, would already allow you to have a complete “IPv6 Fundamentals” course. These courses should come up with a booklet and a matching presentation files and they are standardized and gone through a quality review process.

Moodle is good but if you look at how IEEE and ACM virtual campus like and how they are delivered, you would tell, why not make a little more interactive? They can then be offered to sustaining members for free and the provisions for any individual to use the virtual campus with pay as you go.

If we have a virtual campus already, then we should make use of it.

Rather than confine our responses to a survey, we could ask more members of this list to share their views and suggest ideas around this thought. That would give us several alternatives to work on.

Dear Siva and all: We already have a virtual campus based in moodle ready for use so what we need now is courses.

Maybe a small poll about needs will be the next step?

  Dear Carlos,

I can create and host a moode environment under which Isoc technical experts from chapters can offer courses which can be announced through chapters. Initially the courses could be free courses, eventually we can consider this as a revenue opportunity for chapter projects.

      Dear Carlos,

Good to see you website and course, Yes, I also second that we (ISOC) and its chapters should look at your best practice on the subject. Kindly share more details and guide us on the subject. Thanks

Several chapters have professionals on several areas, I suggest that we can use some virtual campus like the one ISOC Ecuador has located at
http://www.isoc.org.ec/isoc/campus and to work on several courses with specialists from several other chapters. ISOC HQ can help to finance the courses but we can be in charge of organizing and conducting the courses and, of course, this can be also a source of incoming for chapters.

          Hello

I found this course from W3C interesting and signed up:

          http://www.w3techcourses.com/course/category.php?id=4

It occurred to me that ISOC could offer online courses in Networking, IPv6, Network Security and even Internet Browsing. Courses offered by the Internet Technical Community on Internet would be authentic and could be very well structured. Can Isoc think about it?
