Dear All,
[apologies for any duplicates]
This is a friendly reminder to contact your fellow Chapter officers
to discuss the selection of a candidate to receive a travel fellowship
to attend the Global Chapters workshop and INET in Geneva in April
2012. We have had a great response so far, and look forward to
receiving more applications. Some chapters have opened up the
opportunity to their members to help the Chapter identify potential
new leaders (well done to PICISOC, Slovenia, Chennai, Romania and
others..).
HELPFUL TIPS
- Please ensure that the candidate selected meets the criteria listed
below. We would like to encourage chapter selections of young people
and of women;
- In selecting the candidate, the Chapter should please think about :
* what you want the candidate to do for the Chapter after the
workshop. Eg. should they come back and lead an activity or event in
2012?
* what information do you want the candidate to bring back? ie.
does your chapter need new skills and if so where? (planning and
events, marketing, fundraising, membership development etc.)
ISOC is committed to helping develop the next Generation of Chapter
leaders. This workshop therefore assumes that a large number of new
people will participate in the workshop. It will focus on helping them
develop their Chapter leadership skills. To help in identifying the
areas for learning and skill development, in January, we will work
with a programme committee to develop a survey for the attendees which
will help us to build an agenda tailored to the needs of the attendees.
