Objet : [Chapter-delegates] New Website: 15 December

Hi all,

As mentioned during the recent webex sessions about the new website, the
launch date is this Thursday, 15 December.

For those of you who haven't had a chance to participate in any of these
sessions, here's a quick summary of the new features:

*	New design and navigation architecture
*	New content including "What We Do", "Where We Work" and "Get
Involved"
*	Story telling approach to content. A great example of this will be
one of our lead stories on the hompage about the New York Chapter's efforts
to bring the elderly online
*	Multiple pathways to reach content (Chapters will be linked to from
many sections of the site)

If interested, here's a recording of an overview of the new website I gave
Internet Society staff last week: https://isoc.webex.com/isoc/ldr.php?AT=pb
<https://isoc.webex.com/isoc/ldr.php?AT=pb&SP=MC&rID=55690547&rKey=f4e1a5ac6
c5cb132> &SP=MC&rID=55690547&rKey=f4e1a5ac6c5cb132

Here are some important things to know about the launch:

1.	Our domain name: It's changing to internetsociety.org. Yes, isoc.org
will still work as it, along with many other isoc.org addresses, will be
re-directed to its respective new address. For example, isoc.org/isoc will
be redirected to internetsociety.org/who-we-are.
2.	Not all content has been moved over to the new site. However, all
content will still be reachable. Our IT team has made a copy of the current
site (isoc.org) ensuring that we won't lose any content. If a page hasn't
been moved to the new site, you will still be able to reach it on the old
site (which will act as an archive).
3.	How to provide feedback: I want to ensure that the site is being
improved upon on a continual basis. If you have any feedback about the site
(comments, ideas...etc) please send it to webfeedback at isoc.org.
4.	Templates for Chapter Sites: We have a WordPress version ready and
the goal is to have a Drupal based one available in January. I'll be able to
provide greater detail about these templates once we have completed the
launch of the site.

Best regards,

Dan
