[Chapter-delegates] Consultation on ACTA

Dear members,

Following up on some recent emails regarding the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade
Agreement, the Internet Society would like to invite members to participate
in a conference call on Tuesday 12 October 2010 to analyse the draft
consolidated text released on 6 October 2010 (attached) and provide input
for an Internet Society statement.

In preparation for the call, we would like to ask you to consider these
questions:

1. What upcoming public consultations (if any) is your country planning to
hold regarding ACTA?

2. If ACTA is agreed, what potential impact (if any) do you see this
agreement having:

- in your country
- on the Openness of the Internet and the Internet Ecosystem
- on Internet use and access
- on Internet technologies, applications and services
- on Internet intermediaries
- on international governance of Internet IPR issues

3. What aspects of the draft agreement (if any) are positive for the
Internet?

CONFERENCE CALL DETAILS

We will have two conference calls on Tuesday 12 October 2010 at UTC 10:30
and UTC 20. If you would like to participate in one of these calls, please
send me an email (runnegar at isoc.org). I will send the call-in details to
those individuals who express interest in participating on the call.

WRITTEN COMMENTS

If you are unable to participate in the call, please send me an email
(runnegar at isoc.org) with your written comments on the questions by Friday 15
October 2010.
