I see projects now peeking up to work with WIPO aiming to develop new infrastructures for content that if they even half pan out will be transformative. These ideas don't have to come from inside WIPO or even inside ISOC. But what is clear is that a more balanced and nuanced discussion internationally that supports developing new structures for content over networks is going to be vital for these projects. ISOC, and Larry Lessig together or separately have a lot to offer broadening that process of engagement and confidence building so that things can happen.
This is going to be a very interesting few months.

As I said, it would be good, knowing that Larry Lessig is there, if they can contribute. Observer status is good, given the arguments provided in the press release - "ISOC's participation showed WIPO the value of our organization's expertise. At the same time, we found other areas where ISOC can contribute to the work of different Committees within WIPO."
