[Chapter-delegates] UN request for info on ISOC steps toward enhanced cooperation

Dear Chapter delegates,

First, thank you very much for the useful suggestions and discussion  
of what to include in the requested report on ISOC involvement in  
enhanced cooperation.  I am attaching the letter Lynn has sent in  
response.  I hope you will see the information you provided reflected  
there.  The one area I didn't go into is the question of IGF renewal.   
I absolutely acknowledge that is an important issue, and one we need  
to be visible on.  But I believe that raising it in the context of the  
enhanced cooperation request would risk bringing together some very  
political maneuvers that are taking place in the UN.  Those separation  
of the 2 concepts in the WSIS outputs was deliberate and the reasons  
for it remain necessary.  I am working with others to figure out how  
we can possibly influence the outcome of the IGF issues, and will be  
back in touch on that before long.
