Dear Colleagues,
As you may be aware, last year with help from Peter Houstle from
Mariner Management, we began work to revise the ISOC Chapter Policies
and Procedures (see: http://tinyurl.com/y8bbqrf). We had a number of
very successful conference calls with a great turnout from members of
the Sphere Labels group to gather input on the following topics:
* What does success look like for a Chapter?
* To what extent do you think the vision, mission and programmes of
your Chapter is aligned with ISOC Global?
* What are the Basic Operating Principles necessary to ensure we
advance the work of the Internet Society in a demonstrable way and
* What services should ISOC Global provide to ensure the success of
the chapters? What should ISOC Global expect of the chapters in return
for those services?
All the call summaries and audio files are available at: http://tinyurl.com/6xagb8
.
NEXT STEPS
In December, we outlined the next steps, which were to assemble a
small task force composed of staff and Chapter leaders to work on the
details and input provided so far. This has now been assembled and the
group has had one meeting. The outcomes of the first meeting are
documented at: http://tinyurl.com/6xagb8 (look for March 4th call and
the upcoming preparation needed for the March 18th call).
INVITATION
If you are interested in helping to revise the ISOC Chapter Policies
and Procedures, we would like to invite you to join the Sphere Labels
group. The Sphere Labels group members contribute to the work of the
task force by providing review, asking questions and making written
contributions to the "tasks" and outcomes of the task force meetings.
Please contact <chapter-support at isoc.org> if you would like to join
the Sphere Labels group.
With best wishes
Anne
