Good work, and congrats to ISOC-SL! Posted at http://www.isoc-ny.org/?p=1620

By coincidence, earlier this evening ISOC-NY had our second roundtable with
Hunter Newby of Allied Fiber. Newby is the former Chief Strategy Officer of
Telx, operator of groundbreaking IXP's like 60 Hudson in NYC. He is
exuberantly graphic in his narrative of just how much they have contributed
to open networking and lowering transit costs over the last 12 years. The
new effort Allied Fiber is rolling out an interesting "raw-network" model on
US railroad property. It involves dark fiber, spaced co-lo huts, towers, and
IXP's. They rent the fiber, the space, and the cross-connects, the rest is
up to the customers - who can tap in anywhere along the route. Video coming.
