Dear Chapter delegates,

Thank you to all of those who have already expressed their interest and support for this programme.  We have received an impressing number of expressions of interest and requests to be added to the programme's information list -- close to 500 so far!  We also value your constructive feedback on this important new initiative as we intend to constantly improve it as it rolls out in the future.

The Next Generation of Leaders (NGL) programme is designed to give younger individuals of our community between 20 to 40 years of age, including those from developing countries, an opportunity to develop their leadership skills. Specifically, the program is designed to help them improve their knowledge of Internet technology and public policy issues as they progress to become future leaders in ISOC, and in other organizations in the Internet space.

The NGL programme is one programme out of a variety of programmes that the Internet Society makes available to its members. Although it focuses on a specific age category, many other ISOC programmes, including the ISOC Fellowship to the IETF and ISOC Grants programmes, are open to all individuals.

Finally, each component of the program is designed to encourage individuals to enhance ISOC's community, and the Chapters are a core element of this community.  For this reason, I want to thank you again for your support and assistance in promoting this new programme ISOC is proposing.

Best regards,

Constance Bommelaer
