I think ISOC should have http://www.isoc.org/join which redirect to whatever is the system of the day.

This is very easy to remember and give to people, and we should all use this link on our various chapters sites.

I'm just proofreading the chapter handbook and, checking
http://www.isocindiakolkata.in  I noticed that the 'join' link was
broken.

It then occurred to me that I hadn't updated the 'join' info on the
ISOC-NY website,either

Checking, indeed, I found that we still linked to
https://members.isoc.org/PortalTools/NewUser/Index.cfm and then
instructed applicants to, having joined, login on the members site and
join the chapter. A cumbersome process.

I've fixed it, as you can see at http://isoc-ny/join

Strikes me that it might be an idea for ISOC to put a REDIRECT or two
in their .htaccess to fix any legacy links into members.isoc.org - or
are we maybe considering moving the AMS over to there?
