Dear Chapter Delegates,
I am sorry to inform you that Jon McNerney has tendered his
resignation from the Internet Society. During his time with us, we
have made significant progress in a number of areas and I have always
appreciated Jon's commitment, energy and sense of humor.
Jon joined the Internet Society in October 2008 as our first Chief
Operating Officer. In this role, he has helped further ISOC’s overall
Mission to promote the open development, evolution, and use of the
Internet. He has been instrumental in advancing our objectives with
respect to chapter and member engagement, regional development
activities, IT and Member infrastructure developments (such as the
Aptify system), re-invigorating regional INET's, and the development
of funding sources for the work of the Internet Society, to name a few.
Jon's final day will be 31 January 2011. I hope you will join me in
thanking Jon and wishing him well in his future endeavors.
Best regards,
Lynn
