Hi,
Anne, thanks a lot for this large piece of valuable information.
Given the numerous platforms that allow quick creation of a usable
chapter website for free, starting with Blogger and Wordpress, and the
numerous Web 2.0 (and previous generation) tools for all kinds of things
we need, like organizing events (EventBrite and such, etc.), this seems
pretty good.
I'm very glad that the support we always had with Marratech is going to be
extended to the use of Webex for chapters' needs of online meetings.
I do think that the video streaming support is valuable. Even a chapter
with no proper website and no money to spend can organize a meeting from
which a video stream is produced. If it is sent to Livestream, Ustream,
and other platforms, it can be sent out to an essentially boundless number
of places and people, as well as archived for on-demand viewing.
I'm also thankful for your detailed, accurate description of how chapter
needs, input, and feedback have been taken into account for ISOC's budget,
planning and actual work.
It gives me renewed faith in the capacity of this organization to work
with all its components in a lively manner, serving society worldwide, and
fixing its own problems as it goes.
Yours,
Alejandro Pisanty
