[Chapter-delegates] volunteers wanted

The last exchange of emails between ISOC and chapters is not new in
style - we have seen these over and over in the last years. I am a
little bit tired by the constant attempts of ISOC HQ to guide and
control the chapters. But, putting aside the heat of the moment, I'd
like to suggest some way to move forward - and beyond the current stall.
I suggest that we organize an ad-hoc group (AG), consisting of roughly
6-7 volunteers among the chapter presidents and the Board of Trustees.
The AG should come with a list of issues, suggestions how to solve them,
and suggest, if needed, change in policies on both sides - the chapters
and the Board of Trustees. The document, produced by the AG could then
be brought to the chapters and the BoT lists, and after some time for
discussion, could become the base for change in the policies on both sides.
One may argue if we need a change of policy, or not, but even if the AG
comes to the conclusion that the current policy is good, and doesn't
need a change, that still will be something.
I am volunteering to be part of this AG.
I believe the AG could come with some draft document in the next 6 weeks.
Would be good, if the chapter-elected Trustees could forward this
message to the rest of the Board, because the AG should not be limited
to participation of only chapter-related Trustees.
Best,
Veni
