All --
As planned from the beginning of the Association Management System
project, we have wanted to involve chapters as much as possible before
launching the new chapter portal. So far we have had two online demos
of the new portal, and as promised, the next step was a hands-on trial
of a Beta system.
That trial is now complete. About 50 chapter officers (and other
interested stakeholders) from 35 different chapters were invited to
participate in the hands-on Beta testing of the new ISOC Chapter
Portal. From October 1st to October 8th, many officers logged on and
provided feedback to us regarding the proposed new portal.
Based in part on these Beta findings, and general feedback from the
Beta testing group, it has been decided to move the AMS Chapter Portal
go-live date from October 29th to November 17th.
While many members/officers saw value in the increased functionality
of the portal, many others felt it still needed some work in some
areas before it was ready to launch. Based on analysis of these
necessary changes, it was determined that an additional two weeks were
required for the changes and testing to take place.
Therefore, please note that Tuesday, November 17th will be the new
launch date for the portal. We will be providing more instructions
for you on the run up to that day.
Finally, we will be having one more round of Beta testing before
launch, probably in the October 28th - November 4th timeframe. All
current Beta testers will be welcomed back. However, if you are a
chapter officer who has not been involved in testing so far, but would
like to be, please contact us at ams-project at isoc.org and we will
ensure you are included in the final round of testing.
Thanks -
