Hello everyone:
Unfortunately, the initial AMS email that went out this evening
contained an embedded link that pointed to the incorrect portal.
Apologies for this, and the unembedded link that should have gone out
is now correctly displayed below, with the same instructions as
before. However, please log in using the email address at which you
received that initial email, as that more accurately reflects your
user information currently in the new system.
Again, sorry for the trouble and let us know at ams-project at isoc.org
if you are still not able to access the portal. This can occasionally
be the case as your preferred email may not yet match what we have in
our system. We will respond to your request as quickly as we can.
Thanks --
Lincoln McNey and the AMS Team
Thank you for your continued interest in the Internet Society as a
Global Member, and welcome to the new Internet Society Portal!
The former Internet Society portal (called Q) has now been taken
offline, and is no longer accessible. It has been replaced by ISOC's
new Association Management System, or AMS.
As discussed for some time with our member community, this new portal
is multi-lingual and multi-national. It is localised into English,
French, German, and Spanish, and supports many other languages and
alphabets within its UI. In addition, you can select US or
International date formats for display of information. You can also
request to join your local chapter(s) via this portal, something we
strongly encourage!
Since you were a user of the former system, your record exists in the
new one but first you must choose a new password. Please follow the
instructions below for this:
1) To access the portal, click the following URL: https://portal.isoc.org/EBusiness/ForgotUID.aspx
. You should see a page display called Reset Password.
NOTE: If concerned about the security of the above URL, you can also
access the same password-reset page from the main www.isoc.org
website. You can access it by clicking the Login for existing Members
link on the home page, and then clicking Forgot Your User ID or
Password? link on the portal home page.
2) Begin the password-reset process by entering your username, which
is the email address at which you received this email. This will
dispatch another email to your address, containing an encrypted link
to the page where you can actually reset your password.
3) When the email from the portal arrives, click that link and choose
another password on the screen displayed. NOTE: For security
reasons, the URL is time-sensitive and will expire after 30 minutes.
4) Once that is complete, you should now be logged in and be able to
work in the portal.
5) You can now review your personal data, change language and/or date-
format preferences, or add other details by clicking on "My Account"
and "View/Edit Profile. The information you find in your profile may
be out of date, so please change it to reflect current info.
6) As indicated above, the new portal is localised into English,
French, German, and Spanish. Your Preferred Language can be changed
at any time, and will persist once saved for all future logins.
However, during a session you can also switch languages by clicking
the flag icons in the upper right of the portal.
7) The new portal can also handle both International date formats (DD/
MM/YYY) and US date formats (MM/DD/YYYY). Your initial format will be
set by your Country value, but you can also change it manually at any
time using the Preferred Data Format field.
If you encounter any difficulties logging in, or have any feedback
(positive or negative) about the new portal, please send it to ams-project at isoc.org
. We look forward to hearing from you.
Finally, if you wish to unsubscribe, send an email to ams-project at isoc.org
. If you have already requested to unsubscribe, please be patient
while we handle that request. We are aware much of the data from the
old system was out of date, and it will take a few days to update all
records.
Thank you once again for your membership in the Internet Society.
Sincerely --
Lincoln McNey and the ISOC AMS team
