Dear Colleagues,

The 2008 - 2009 Nominations Committee met by teleconference on October
30, December 9 and 19, January 15 and 29, and February 5.

I am pleased to report the results of the Nominations Committee's
efforts to select a slate of candidates for the 2009 Internet Society
Board of Trustees elections. The Committee recommends the following
nominees:

Organizational Member Trustee positions (two positions to be filled this
year):
-	David Appasamy, India
-	Guanghao Li, China
-	Allen Miller, United States
-	Phillip Smith, Australia
-	Jonathan Zittrain, United States

Chapter Trustee positions (one position to be filled this year):
-	Narelle Clark, Australia
-	Khaled Koubaa, Tunisia
- Franck Martin, Fiji

Biographical information for each of the candidates can be accessed at:
http://www.isoc.org/isoc/general/trustees/elections/2009/candidates/.

This concludes the work of the Nominations Committee. On behalf of the
Committee I would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the potential
candidates who expressed an interest and willingness to serve on the
board of trustees. The Committee received submissions from many
well-qualified candidates, and narrowing the field to the final slate
was an extremely challenging task. We are confident that the nominees
selected are strongly qualified and will bring unique skills and
experiences to the ISOC Board of Trustees.

Many thanks also to the Nominations Committee for all their time and
hard work. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Ballots will be sent electronically to the designated Election
Representatives of each eligible Organizational Member and Chapter no
later than March 26th and votes should be cast no later than 23:59 US
Eastern Daylight Savings Time on April 25th.

Sincerely,

Hiroshi Esaki
Chair, 2009 Nominations Committee
