Fabulous - we'll circulate this event to our members, and hopefully it won't be at too ridiculous a time...
Alejandro is spot on, however, about needing to remind people this being a global list!
Actually - what is "CET" as a time???
Sydney, Au is on AEDT right now, ie GMT+11 and this probably means this event is on about midnight our time?
[PS Alejandro Australians are increasingly marking St Patricks Day as yet another good excuse for a party. Especially since we're all working ridiculous hours these days. You'll see a small parade here, and green markings on various Irish influenced places. Thanks for the Mexican history lesson, too.]
[PPS Mon français n'est pas assez bon pour traduire l'ensemble de ce message!}
A bientot

Hi Olivier
You're right on the money with the note about the proposal to create
the Web. We may debate whether that is conception rather than birth,
but in fact at CERN, they and Tim Berners-Lee have agreed on that
particular event as the appropriate landmark to celebrate!

And so tomorrow, Sir Tim will be back at CERN for the special
celebrations. It will be webcast, by the way, at 14:00 CET (details at
the link above).
Also, Rudi Vansnick has just reminded me that his fellow Beligian,
Robert Caillau, was a key collaborator in the development of the Web.
Apologies, Rudi, for failing to mention that in the press release, but
for those wanting to learn more about the "world's first web surfer",
there's a good profile on the CERN site:

Cheers everyone
- Gerard
