[Chapter-delegates] ICANN meeting in Sydney: Chapter and Member meetings

Dear Colleagues,

The Sydney ICANN meeting is fast approaching. We have established a  
separate mailing list :

for all those attending the Chapter and Member meetings, or interested  
in remote participation, to update people on logistical details and  
related information.   All future notices about the Chapter and member  
meetings alongside the ICANN meeting will only be posted to this list.  
If you wish to be added to this list, please send email to  <chapter-support at isoc.org

There will be several meetings alongside the ICANN meeting for ISOC  
Members and Chapters.  The events for your diary are below.  I have  
been working closely with ISOC AU to draft up some initial agendas.  
Feedback and suggestions for agenda items are most welcome.

1. ISOC's participation in ICANN - Sunday 21 June 6.00-7.30 pm local  
time (UTC 08.00-09.30)
Location: Hilton Sydney, Australia, 488 George Street, Function Room  
4, Level 2
Chair: Cheryl Langdon Orr, ISOC AU.

Draft agenda:
* Post JPA discussion
* ICANN Plan on Security -  examining chapter input/perspectives  
across different ICANN constituencies (comments are due 21 June)
* New gTLDs from the user perspective
* AOB

2. Dinner for attendees following the above meeting - 8pm (UTC 10.00)
Venue: TBC - but outside the hotel.

3. ISOC Chapter and Members meeting - Tuesday 23 June 2009, 7-9pm  
local time (UTC 09.00-11.00)
Location: Hilton Sydney, Australia, 488 George Street, Function Room  
3, Level 4

Local Host chair: Narelle Clark, VP, ISOC AU
Draft agenda:
* Welcome from ISOC AU
* Chapter Development update (including sphere)
* Overview of HQ strategy and initiatives
* Discussion of top 3 issues facing  Chapters (pre-meeting survey to  
be sent out)
* AOB

4. ISOC AU Social Event and reception - Thursday 25th June,  
6.30-7.30pm. (UTC 09.30-10.30)
Venue: TBC. All ISOC members and chapters are invited.

5. Sphere meetings
Robin Loan, the consultant for the Sphere project will also be present  
in Sydney and looks forward to assisting with any Sphere related  
project meetings or other gatherings.

6. One-on-one Chapter delegate meetings
I will be present from the Chapters team, along with Rajnesh Singh,  
Regional Bureau Manager for South and South East Asia. I look forward  
to meeting up with as many Chapter leaders face to face as possible.
