I don't think anyone from ISOC-AU is attending this year (except via apnic members).

Can I encourage you to have an ISOC chapters meeting even if there aren't many actual ISOC chapter reps attending?

At the last apricot in Australia we organised a special session for ISOC chapters and like minded bodies. It was really worthwhile, particularly in raising awareness of both ISOC and the various different groups. The different 'other' groups were good to get to know as there are little quasi govt, or community, groups that could eventually evolve into ISOC chapters given the right support, or act similarly to ISOC but lack size, govt endorsement etc.

Mind you we were also lucky to have various ISOC/IAB people attending so that made it really easy to set up a 'how do standards work' session and other topics.

All the best, and sorry I can't make it this year (new job means I can do more, but still am programming it in!)

cheers

Dear Chapter Delegates,

If you, or anyone from your membership plan to attend the cluster of events around APRICOT 2009 in Manila (cf http://apricot2009.net <http://apricot2009.net/> ), please let me know.

It would be a good opportunity to catch up.

If there are sufficient numbers attending (and everyone's schedule permitting), we could look at an informal membership get-together.
