Hello -
My name is Lincoln McNey, a relatively recent hire here at the
Internet Society. I was brought on to co-manage the rollout of a new
Association Management System (AMS) for ISOC and Chapters, and in that
capacity will be sending out updates to chapters on how the project is
progressing. These will go out to Chapter Delegates and designated
chapter points of contact (POCs) at least once per month during the
deployment.
Just to give some background on this project:
ISOC's current chapter and member management systems are being
replaced by a CRM-type system called Aptify. This new system will
become the one system of record for ISOC data, instead of the 4
separate systems currently in place. Phase One will be a deployment
of the ISOC-internal AMS system, and Phase Two will be a rollout of a
chapter/member facing web portal for this same system. Among other
functions, this portal will allow chapters to securely manage their
own membership data on the web.
Here is a summary of activities since the project began in March 2009:
* 12 ISOC staff trained on Aptify Fundamentals in Washington, DC. ,
two ISOC staff trained for Aptify Adminstration.
* Aptify software installed and running on ISOC servers
* Test imports completed from all ISOC legacy data sources - ISOC
data now in the Aptify test system for review
* Requirements for Members, Chapters, Orgs, Grants, Events and
Finance have been collected and are now under review
* A list of contact points from chapters has been compiled, and 40+
Points of Contact now confirmed for Chapters
* Work on chapter data confirmation has begun
If you have any questions around this first phase of the AMS project,
please write to ams-project at isoc.org .
Thanks ,
Lincoln McNey
