Total number of responses: 41
Most important issues (in number of responders, raging from 18 to 10):
- e-government
- The price of the Internet access in my country - it is too expensive
- Poor connectivity in rural and remote area
- Ensure privacy for the users
- Build free wi-fi network in the cities
- The speed of the Internet connection is very slow
- Competition among Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
Most important (marked as such by participants in %)
- The price of the Internet access in my country - it is too expensive (28 %)
- Competition among Internet Service Providers (ISPs) (36 %)
More important ((marked as such by participants %)
- Poor connectivity in rural and remote area (50 %)
- The price of the Internet access in my country - it is too expensive (28 %)
- The speed of the Internet connection is very slow (45 %)
Least Important:
- e-Government (33 %)
- I get too much spam in my mailbox (57%)
Interesting observations:
- ensuring privacy is equally distributed between most, more,
important, somewhat important. None has marked "least"
- ID Theft is mentioned only by 2 people (which explains probably
that users were mainly from non-US countries)
- destruction of moral values, pornography, etc. is mentioned only
once, as 'least important'
- other 1-time only mentioned topics:
Remove all licensing and registration for ISPs
Connect all the Universities in one network
- other 2-time only mentioned topics:
Negative impact of ICT and the Internet on human health
Ensure anonymous access to the Internet
Introduce licenses on the ISPs
Conclusions:
Although this was probably not a good defined survey, it gives some
ideas as to what the chapters are interested in.
Best,
Veni
