[Chapter-delegates] Membership System Update and Request for Assistance

Dear Colleagues,

I wish to update you on progress related to the ISOC membership system
project.  The initial phase of this project was the development of business
rules (BRIMS).  The rules were formulated after discussions with and input
from the ISOC chapters and others within our community.  Thanks are extended
to the many ISOC chapters which participated in this process.  A draft of
the business rules is now available on the ISOC chapter wiki at:

Discussion and comments on this draft and now invited.  You can share your
views on the chapter delegates list and in addition, you can suggest changes
to actual policies and content using the wiki.  All comments and suggestions
will be considered in developing the final version of the business rules.
The goal is to reach consensus on the business
rules within the ISOC community before the end of 2007.   

The next phase of this process is two-fold: a) to form a membership system
working group and b) developing the system specifications based on an open
source platform.  If someone in your chapter is interested in participating
in the working group or is using an open source membership system, please
let me know at <monroe at isoc.org>.
