Dear Colleagues-

Knowing that many of you are involved with the ICANN meetings this week, we
are extending the deadline to comment on the 2nd draft of the business rules
to November 7. As previously noted, if you are fine with the revised draft,
we would appreciate knowing that as well.

Regards,

Terry Monroe

Subject: [Chapter-delegates] Revised Business Rules Draft

Dear Colleagues-

A special thanks to those of you that have given of your time to participate
in the BRIMs (business rules) process. Your comments and suggestions and
the lively conversations that have taken place on Marratech over the past
few weeks have been very good.

>From the discussions, some themes have emerged:
- data protection issues continue to be an issue that must be addressed as
we move forward with the membership system.
- some tranistion period is advisable to allow chapters to update their
by-laws as may be necessary based on these rules

Based on the specific comments and suggestions, we have prepared a 2nd draft
of the BRIMs rules. A revised draft is available for viewing on the chapter
wiki: http://wiki.chapters.isoc.org/tiki-index.php?page=Business%20Rules. We
encourage you to review this revised draft and to let us know your thoughts.

The goal remains to reach consensus on the business rules within the ISOC
community as quickly as possible, in order that we can move forward with the
next phase of this process which is to address the membership system. And
thanks to those that have volunteered to participate on the membership
system project.

We ask that if you have proposed changes to this draft, that you you provide
those by no later than 31 October. Also, if you are fine with the document
in its current form, we also would appreciate if you could let us know that
as well.

Regards,

Terry Monroe
