Dear All,
Connectivity in rural areas is one of the major challenges still exists towards building inclusive information society in developing countries. In the same perspective, the recent development of mobile telco's penetration in rural areas like Bangladesh is also creating an enormous opportunity to bridge the 'connectivity gap' in a significant manner.
Even after having this scenario in place, we are struggling to plug-in the rural areas with internet world.
Wondering to see not any significant initiative from ITU / UN / GSM association or even local telecom regulators to ride on this trend and ensure connectivity in rural areas.
Let's raise our voice to make sure that rural people can get reliable, affordable and easy access to internet and relevant information by using the existing facilities.
Can we put this in the agenda list in all our future ICT4D agenda?
Regards,
Shahid
