The following application for an ISOC Chapter in Moldova has been 
received. It is being sent to this list for peer comment and review.

Please note that the chapter has not officially been recognised by ISOC yet.

If there are people on this list that know the individuals proposing to
establish the chapter, feedback is especially welcome.

The period allowed for comments is 2 weeks and the deadline is 24
November 2007.

1. The proposed name is "ISOC Moldova Chapter"

2. The ISOC-M Chapter will serve the entire territory of Moldova, 
Republic of.

3. The purpose and scope:

We support the public policy principles of ISOC specifically:
. Access
. Openness
. Diversity
. Security
- Promotion of more rapid development of Internet
- Promotion of e-Government initiatives
- Promotion of Internet Governance
- Protection of human rights on the Internet
- Promotion of an effective use of the Internet through education
- Bringing the information about the Internet to individuals and 
organizations

Also the goals and objectives are well defined in ISOC-M Statute 
(Chapter II).

4. Founding Members of the "Internet Society ISOC-M Chapter" are:

A key role of SE MoldData as a Supporting Organization and an Official 
Registrar of a domain names under ccTLD.md is that SE MoldData is able 
to bring together all interested parties – both governmental and civil 
society – for participation in further development of Internet Society 
in Moldova.  SE MoldData, as a state enterprise, can contribute in 
formulation and adoption of policies that make the Internet accessible 
for everyone.
