Hi all,

Seems to me that this list is mainly used to congratulate people of
their various appointments, while it is nice, this is supposed to be a
list where chapters talk amongst themselves of ISOC and how they see the
future.

There is an upcoming board meeting on 11 and 12 November.

What do you want to know?
Where do yo want to go?

Yes, the membership system is a high priority, but this is an
operational issue and not a strategic/policy one. While I can request an
update on the progress in implementing a correct membership system, this
will not go too far in strategic discussion.

I see most of you support the creation of regional bureaus to link
better between ISOC and Chapters. I see you look to see the project
grants continue and be enhanced. You are requesting some private web
space on ISOC site to exchange information with chapters, or a public
space to do your chapter web site. I may have missed a couple of items,
as I reviewed the e-mails on the subject quickly. I just want to
re-launch the discussion to see if we have consensus on the previous posts.

There has been a question about why I talked about a Chapter advisory
group. Well the Organisations have and Advisory Organisation Council,
they meet once or twice a year during IETF meetings (mainly) and
Organisations also elect representatives to the board. Finally the
officers of the AOC are on the Trustee-extended mailing list.

Now let's carry on the debate to prepare the next ISOC Board meeting.
