In impressing upon the Ethiopian government to let go of the internet,
instead of restricting the little available access, which is paid for so
dearly by end users, may I give our opposite example.
In a CCK adverstisement appearing on today's Daily Nation ( pp.39) it is
delightful to observe the opposite path our governement has taken in
ensuring every district and all populous divisional headquarters are
connected by "open access" fibre.
Furthermore, our draft Kenya Information and Communication Bill - 2006
prohibits the Regulator from controlling content.
When I learnt the poem "who killed cock robin" as a child, I had no idea it
would make any sense in my grown life. But with the so called technical
gliches this robin poem <http://www.garden-birds.co.uk/birds/robin.htm> now
makes even more sense.
