Franck,
You asked how the PIR board is chosen. The PIR board is chosen by
the ISOC board. Terms are three years. We have been focusing on
finding a good mix of people who are knowledgeable about the domain
name registry business and have relevant business and/or technical
experience. Breadth, maturity, cohesiveness and other factors play a
role.
There is also a non-voting position on the PIR for a Liaison from
ISOC. Lynn St. Amour, president and CEO of ISOC is filling that role.
I've cc'd Fred Baker, chair of the ISOC board, Eva Frölich, chair of
the PIR board, Glenn Ricart, chair of ISOC's internal board ad hoc
subcommittee on PIR, and Lynn in case anyone wants to add more
authoritative info. Glenn is also on the PIR as well as the ISOC board.
