Franck:

Lynn will be attending this ICANN as she normally does. And it is our
intent to convene an ISOC meeting as has been done at the recent ICANN
Meetings. I am not yet aware of Lynn's schedule so I cannot yet say what
time is best. But can I ask you or others on this list who might be
familiar with the venue site to suggest a place where a group might be
able to gather for several hours?

Then I will put out more informnation closer to that time as this shapes
up.

Best regards,
David

Subject: [Chapter-delegates] ICANN Wellington: ISOC Gathering?

Hi all,

As you may know, there is an ICANN meeting in Wellington from 24 to
31March 2006 (www.icann.org.nz).

At the same time, there will be a Forum ICT Ministerial meeting for the
Pacific Islands (16 countries) from 28 to 30March. The objective of this
meeting is to discuss the implementation plan of the Digital Strategy
part of the Pacific Plan (www.pacificplan.org).

At the same time on the 31March there is a Pasifika conference
(http://www.pasifika-it.com/)

PICISOC is highly involved in the second meeting and will be present at
ICANN. Moreover a large number of our members will roam the corridors.
We are submitting a paper to Forum meeting. A draft is here:
http://www.picisoc.org/tiki-download_file.php?fileId=32

PICISOC Chairman, Rajnesh Singh, and Secretary, Anju Mangal, should be
present as well as myself (vice-chair).

We have sent a fax to each Pacific Islands government to inform them of
this meeting. I have also worked personnaly with the GAC and Forum to
ensure that a maximum of people from the Pacific Islands make the trip
to Wellington.

As PICISOC with ISOC-AU are the closest chapters from New Zealand, we
would like to know what are the plans from ISOC in terms of events,
sponsoring, workshop, etc...

Also, It would be nice if we could have a short ISOC meeting during this
ICANN, like we did in Vancouver.

Any other suggestion is welcomed.
