I would also like to see in our statement a call for ICANN to implement better user representation within the organization (including voting representation on the Board, as Patrick mentions the White Paper called for a long time ago).
2.
I'm not sure it's advisable to state that we consider ICANN's current scope is appropriate while arguing against root server supervision, as this was one of ICANN's responsibilities listed in the white paper. The current situation does not really allow ICANN to fulfill its mandate, as it has official responsability for name/address resolution without having authority over nor formal agreements with root servers.
3.
A call for greater transparency is something you may want to consider adding to the statement.
Otherwise I think it's a fine statement.
