In principle, it is not possible to distribute a virus through this 
mailing list (or any ISOC mailing list for that matter), insofar as 
all messages are run through a virus scanner.

This includes subscribers' messages, which are rejected if they 
contain a recognized virus payload.

Of course, the quality of the virus scanner is dependent on 
up-to-date virus definitions.  This is maintained automatically 
but, as with all virus scanners, it is still possible for a virus 
to arrive before its updated definition.  Caution is always 
recommended.
