me thinks that instead ISOC chapters should behave responsibly and neither
fall victim to nor endorse fear spreading and FUD. Sure there are many
broken systems and bad configurations, but the observations made in the
referenced article are neither new nor are the consequences drawn correctly.

That's a good idea, but some care is due. From our own (ISOC.DE's) experience
we know that the press (or maybe a certain subset) is eager to have "death
of the 'net" headlines, but it's not our mission to always serve their
expectations.
