Subject: [ISOC-members-announce] Chapter/Member Project Funding for
2006Announcement
Dear ISOC Members:
This year the ISOC Board of Trustees has again approved and funded the
ISOC Chapter/Member Project Funding Program. This exciting initiative,
begun last year, has been a remarkably effective way in which ISOC and
its chapters/members have together extended their mutual reach in the
continuing good work of ensuring that the Internet is for Everyone.
The program is further described here:
http://www.isoc.org/isoc/chapters/projects/index.php. At this site you
can see details on this program including the amount of funds available
(up to US$200,000 will be available this year to qualifying projects
which individually are eligible for awards of up to US$10,000). You can
also look at reports on last year's funded projects.
For the first round of funding in 2006 applications will be accepted
until May 31st at 16:00 GMT. Applications should be made on our website
as indicated above by clicking on 'Application'.
This is an important and significant program. Be sure to read all about
it, including the qualifying criteria, on the website.
ISOC's project funding experience this past year has again confirmed the
creativity, energy and dedication of our chapters and members to put
their talents to very good use in pursuit of our mission and goals. We
look forward to another year of such effort.
David
