Veni,
thanks for your informative comment. It is remarkable that you are a
member of the Macedonia Chapter too!
The application and Veni's additional note are most welcome in that they
are verifiable wrt people involved and indeed some of them are well known
and held in high esteem.
The institutional arrangement of creating the chapter as a unit of the
Metamorphosis Foundation seems a necessity given what we all know can be
the red tape of governmentally mandated registration of new societies and
the associated times and costs. One does expect the Chapter to inform
later how this unit is established and what degree of independence it can
achieve (a spectrum of things between policy and money come to mind.) On
the face of it, it seems more like we should thank the Foundation for
supporting the Chapter, but in the long run we must make sure there are
not too many labels for a small group of people.
Terry, is the institutional agreement agreeable to ISOC administratively?
Will the Chapter have the ability to sign an MoU, be made responsible for
intellectual property, use of ISOC logos, etc., as I assume most of us
are?
If this aspect is satisfactory for ISOC HQ I am glad to join the support
for the creation of the chapter and the congratulations to all the
hard-working people who put it together, and wish best luck to them.
Yours,
Alejandro Pisanty
