Greetings from Chicago, Tricia, Lynn, Gene, et al,
Way back in 1997, one year before I joined ISOC, O'Reilly Press published
a book titled: "The Harvard Conference on The Internet and Society". I
humbly suggest that you offer something similar to this title for an
amicable solution as you inform them that using the Internet Society is a
no-no. In addition, extend an offer for them to join us. For it was the
famous American poet, Carl Sandburg who wrote these great lines:
He drew a circle that shut me out:
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout;
But love and I had a mind to win;
We drew a circle and took him in.
Just my two-cents (U.S.).
God bless ISOC and the founders.
Sincerely,
Bill
President, ISOC-Chicago

speak with Desiree yesterday evening (ie Wednesday) who alerted me to
this situation.

"THE Internet Society" (ie ISOC) were in some way officially to be able

initiate this without coordinating with us first. We are drafting a
note to them from the Geneva office and it would not be helpful for
them to receive multiple phone calls or contradictory messages.
