In addition to my respected colleague Mike Todd's message, I would like to add the following:

Mr. Cerf,

There are relatively few individuals who carry with them the respect of the people. I submit that you and Mr. Kahn are among those few.

During your visit to Los Angeles, a few years ago, I was fortunate enough to have witnessed your impact on an group of people in a very immediate way. There is no mistaking your love of the work and your excitement about the potential for this medium.

The inspiration I gained from this event has sustained me since then, and, I expect as with others in attendance, beyond. The clarity with which you expressed the ideas in your presentation is a model. The freshness of your approach is a model.

"IP On Everything" says it all.

Our mission is becoming clear, and these models will help us in attaining our goals. We have work to do in making our structure truly equitable. We have work to do in defining our purpose. We have work to do in making our actionable concepts reality. We have much work to do, and your indefatigable enthusiasm helps us all realize what it takes to accomplish the tasks ahead, and just how much fun it can be to do it.

You're a fun guy who has made a big impact. I suspect Mr. Kahn is either a similar individual or a complete opposite ... regardless, one super-cool piece of folk.

Thanks, and many congratulations on your upcoming award.

Keep the ponytail. Please.
