Onnno,
I found the report very interesting and highly informative. Have you
prepared a more recent report? If so, can you make it available to us? If
not, do you plan to issue one in the near future? In Puerto Rico, we are
conducting a State of the Internet Report which we intend to publish this
year. We would like to include a synopsis of key data from other countries
and would like to include any updated information you may have about
Indonesia or direct us to an appropriate source. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Ramón Morales
Chairman
Internet Society of Puerto Rico

There is only one hot spot that I know of, and it is not free. But you are
correct that most users of wi-fi here is unaware of the security risks that
comes with the medium.

the wireless internet access and the security (or lack of) behind it. While
in some countries this is still a new service, sooner or later it will come
there. In Bulgaria thanks to 802.11b many people got on the Internet at
times when the telecom monopolist would not allow leased lines or enough
dial-up POPs. But that's another story.

days!): perhaps we could start kind of chapters' blog, where every chapter
will add their activities, on top of the monthy newsletter? Thus we'll be
able to hear news from all over the Internet world, in real time. I think
this will also allow people who are busy to read/write in the list, to go to
one place and see what has happened - with comments, etc. Is there anyone
here who's a keen blogger? If not, I can talk to Joichi Ito (joi.ito.com) -
one of the most famous bloggers.

funding. We need to change that. If there is another chapter that actually
has a budget, that is performing long-term projects, please, let us know. We
need to unite efforts and share expenses. Thus we'll be able to build a
self-sustainable model for all chapters.
