DESIGNING THE FUTURE 2005 - ULTRA-BROADBAND AND THE INTERNET

DTF'05, in Sydney on Wednesday 6 April 2005, will focus on the
implications of massive Internet bandwidth for business, medicine,
education, communities and the IT industry.

For a brochure, program details and online registration, see:
http://www.isoc-au.org.au/DTF05/

This forum will bring you highlights of the evolving global Internet -
not blue sky research, but imminent developments going mainstream: we
pack into one day what most other conferences attempt in three.

Our speakers have a vast range of experience exploring massive
bandwidth in the real world, from remote diagnostics to black holes,
from new networks to entertainment and hyperculture.

Some of the topics covered:
The future in Asian telecommunications
Canada's next generation network
The Last Mile Arms Race
Pulsars in 3D virtual reality
Critical medical services for remote locations
Avoiding new networking bottlenecks
What happens after we're all connected?

This is no simple talk-fest - it will *show* you just what's on the
way. We are broadcasting everything over the Internet with the Access
Grid ("video conferencing on steroids"), presenting a live concert with
a difference - musicians in far-apart cities playing together - an
Australian first!

Event fees include lunch, refreshments and after-event drinks (inc GST):
$180 ISOC-AU Individual members
$250 Staff/members/students of ISOC-AU Sponsors, Foundation and
     Enterprise members, and Associated organisations
$275 Full fee
