Franck,
I would like to understand why your members believe they should break
away from ISOC. While I understand that some people are dissatisfied
with the introduction of the new membership level, the Chapter Program
has not changed. In fact, we will soon be expanding that program by
inviting Chapters to submit project proposals for funding from ISOC.
(Chapters will shortly be asked to comment on the program and procedures
before it is formally launched.) If your mission and purpose remains
consistent with ISOC's I would hope you would want to participate in this
new benefit for ISOC Chapters.
If your concerns are about the individual membership program, I am sure
you have seen by now that we announced a short time ago we are going to
make some changes. Keeping in mind that ISOC will continue to have an
individual membership program, what elements of the program would you
(and your members) change and what would you change them to?
As to why you should join ISOC, it should be because you want to join a
partnership that works together to advance a shared mission and purpose.
ISOC's mission and purpose can be found here:
<http://www.isoc.org/isoc/>
Has your mission and purpose changed?
Can you say more about what you want or need that is not currently
available?
Is there something you believe we should change that would make the
Chapter program better for you?
Jim
