All,
Hope you understand that we brought to the attention to the board the
concerns of chapters and they were listened. As mentioned by Veni, soon
it will be announced the Project funding initiative and this is positive
for chapters.
Lynn and Fred will address a letter to you to explain further about this
issue. As from now, the communications among us will be improved, and
this is a fact. More consultation channels will be developed.
Chapters are important for ISOC but ISOC is also important for chapters.
Lets work together and not against. Coming from a developing country
myself I understand this issue more than others perhaps but I also
understand than not everybody thinks the same. Some individual members
will start to pay their membership because they don't feel identified
with a chapter, or do not have a chapter near by or for other reasons.
They also have the right to express themselves.
With regards
Rosa

Veni, Patrick and Rosa
I know you have the best at heart for the chapters, and value your input
and stewardship at the BoT.
I was hoping that the VP-Chapter or even Lynn would have written to the
chapter-delegates list to explain the result from the board on this
topic. I think we showed enough that this matter is of importance to us.
I was hoping they would therefore communicate with us immediately after
the board.
It is not too late though. I'm curious to see how they see the issue
after the BoT meeting.
Cheers
