Wladek,
I studied your membership presentation and I agree with your proposal which
could form the basis of a major overhaul of not only the membership system
but of ISOC itself into an authentic global organization. I propose that we
at the chapter level study this proposal and extract guiding principles that
we adopt as a central resolution.

I say this with a full understanding that the ISOC Board is meeting today
and will deliberate over these very same issues. I say this with the full
knowledge that unless we adopt at the chapter level this enormous vision of
a global organization that is so well articulated in your presentation, we
will fail to galvanize and motivate the chapters to take meaningful actions.
We are at a crossroads where the only course that can propel us forward is
the one that you propose, namely the establishment of a global organization
that subordinates all other entities under one center and treats chapter
members with full equal rights as global members so as to make the
distinction irrelevant from a governance standpoint.

I appreciate your clarity and your leadership on this matter. Your thinking
summarizes what many of us feel but have not expressed as clearly as you
have in this document. I will share it with our local chapter leadership and
look forward to continuing this discussion with you and the other chapter
leaders.

Warmest regards,
Ramón Morales
Chairman
Internet Society of Puerto Rico

PS I hope you get some rest and value your effort to get this to us in spite
of your difficult circumstances, Thanks!!!

Hi all,

the current version of my presention in different formats is available
here:

http://isoc.org.pl/2005/membership/

I was forced to spend last two nights in train from Warsaw to Brussels
and back (16 hours each way), so I suffer for attention disorder related
to lack of sleep. I should make it better but it is out of my
capabilities today.

This includes my inability to use excellent post from Indonesia, Canada,
USA-Texas etc. from last 2 days.

Patrick, use it as you can and will. I hope this debate will not be
closed tommorow so we will have more time to make a better focused
position papers.

Rgds

Wladek
