My peronal opinion and I believe the opinion of the other
ECC members is positive reagrding this initiative. In the
New Year eve Italia and Germany have colected 23 Milion EUR just
through the GSM network. People were calling special announced
number and their bill was charged for 1 EUR (mobile) and 5 EUR
(fixed line).
We can plan similar or other actions to help the
Chapters in the respective countries. If the announcement
about the incomming tsunami was spread over the Internet
and lately to the radio stations the number of victims would
be maybe just 10% of the current. Here Internet could show the
power of the information. The information came
on tme in the more developed countries in the region e.g
Australia.
