How about using fully HTML based chatroom ? although it is not real time
(refresh based), it does have some advantages because late entrants can read
the everything typed from the beginning. Unless of course, this is suppose
to be a voice conference.

If everyone agree with HTML based chatroom, we have developed one that is
currently in beta testing. The reason we developed this is because we tried
conference using instant messenger and java chat room before, and each time
there was always several members who were unable to join the conference due
to technical issues (version compatibility, behind firewall, etc,etc...).
This system is PHP 4 based and of course, will be royalty free.

note:
If any chapter is interested in using this, just say so and I will send the
program as soon as we finished testing it.
