I can offer the support of a company here that might be able to provide
something that we would be able to use. I am currently working with a
company called Numedeon that has designed a virtual meeting space for
collaborative online meetings which incorporates the types of things we want
to do. It's a basic example that is low footprint, low bandwidth, and
compatible with any browser.

Dr Bower's technology is already in practice on another project called
whyville..

Which has around 200000 registered users currently.

I might be able to talk him into letting us try it out to see if it suits
our needs for an extended period of time? Should I pursue it?

Dear Chapter Delegates:

It seems to me that the Chapters Delegates list has become more active over
recent times and now that the archives are open (from January 1st of this
year) I am hoping it usefulness as a communications tool will increase even
further. I want to ask you about other tools that might be a good supplement
to this.

Do you feel believe that we should arrange a time for a real-time
synchronous discussion among chapters once a month or once a quarter. If so,
what technology do you see as the most sensible way to do this - instant
messaging, blogging, VoIP?

I think we could rotate times around the clock so that the call hits within
a 'good' timeframe for all of us on an even basis. I could also try to
organize an opening agenda, based on input from this group but maybe that
duty is better suited elsewhere - what do you think?

Also, how do you feel about a calendar on which chapters can post their
upcoming events and matters of interest? I would like to find a way to
communicate to the Board such things but this seems to be better suited to a
calendar that a mail list. I am interested in your thoughts.
