Mike,
I have been on holidays in Peru since this week so I had almost no time
to read e-mails. I hope there is still time to give some suggestions:
Original text in black
a) ... The Working Group's report should help government officials and
others in countries around the world to better understand how the
Internet functions and how it is managed, what key policy issues need to
be addressed in order to make the Internet more accessible and useful to
more people, and what different policy solutions have been proposed by
different experts and interest groups and who are today the the
responsible organizations and decision makers...
Suggestion: add .. and which are the organizations that have a role in
shaping the Internet
b) ... The World Summit on the Information Society process can help in
this regard by: (1) Demonstrating that the Internet is for everyone and
that Internet technologies can benefit every country, even the poorest,
Why even the poorest? ..Suggestion: that Internet technologies,
essential tools for development, can benefit every country of the world
c) ... key documents are available free of charge on the Web, meetings
are open, membership is unrestricted, and fees, if any, are kept
purposely low. Furthermore, all of these organizations are actively
working to increase
But participants from dev countries cannot afford to attend meetings
held in Geneva and other locations .. Suggestion: e-participation
mechanisms should be further explored to increase developing countries
participation
d) .... The five RIRs (AfriNIC serving Africa, APNIC, serving the
Asia-Pacific region; ARIN, serving Northern America; LACNIC, serving
Latin America;
Suggestion: LACNIC serving Latin America and the Caribbean region (Raul!
- do you agree)
Regards
Rosa
