<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">Encryption protects far more than our messages. It underpins secure communications, financial transactions, personal privacy and the exercise of fundamental rights online. Yet, growing regulatory pressures, surveillance practices and proposals to weaken encrypted communications raise critical questions about its future.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">We are delighted to welcome <strong>Jean F. Quéralt, Founder and CEO of The IO Foundation</strong>, whose work focuses on data-centric digital rights, technical standards and rights by design.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;">The session will trace the evolution of encryption, examine its role in protecting users and explore contemporary debates around surveillance, security, regulation and the protection of strong encryption.</span></p>
